Shop-floor Safety Specialist

Job description

• Patrol workshops/manufacturing centers daily, stop unsafe practices or instructions, identify hazards and follow corrections through to closure.
• Provide new-employee and job-specific safety training, pre-shift safety briefings and safety drills.
• Monitor proper use and periodic inspection of special equipment, fire facilities and PPE.
• Maintain safety registers, records, hazard reports and incident notifications.
• Participate in incident investigation, cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
• Implement company safety, fire-safety and occupational-health requirements.
• Complete other safety-management tasks assigned by supervisors.

Requirements

• College diploma or above.
• Safety, electromechanical, chemical, mechanical or related majors are preferred.
• Experience in safety management at factories, workshops or manufacturing businesses and familiarity with on-site safety.
• Knowledge of production safety rules, fire prevention, machinery/electrical safety and basic special-equipment safety.
• A safety officer or safety-management certificate is preferred.
• Careful, responsible and principled, with good communication, coordination and persistence in on-site management.
• Proficiency in office software, safety registers and corrective-action notices.
• Chinese communication skills.
