Process Quality Engineer (PQE)

Job description

• Monitor quality across manufacturing, assembly and testing operations for high-speed data cables; identify risks affecting finished-product quality.
• Identify critical in-process quality control points; coordinate the development, review and revision of inspection standards, frequencies and product acceptance criteria.
• Check compliance with work instructions, process standards, operator self-checks and in-line inspections; identify deviations and recommend corrective measures.
• Collect and analyze process defect data, yield, defect rates and scrap; track trends by operation, shift and product code to prioritize issues.
• Work with production, process engineering, equipment and inspection teams to contain, segregate, assess and disposition suspect or nonconforming products, while maintaining relevant traceability.
• Participate directly in quality investigations using data analysis, shop-floor observation and root-cause techniques; validate causes before corrective action.
• Track corrective and preventive actions, verify their effectiveness, prevent recurrence and document issue closure.
• Support the creation and updating of process flowcharts, PFMEA, Control Plans and inspection instructions where these tools are used in the plant.
• Coordinate quality evaluations for changes in materials, equipment, fixtures, parameters or work methods, as well as introductions of new products or processes.
• Investigate defects detected at final inspection or escalated by the customer-quality function; implement upstream process improvements and verify results.
• Propose and implement improvements to reduce defects, rework and scrap and improve process stability; measure performance before and after improvement.
• Prepare periodic quality and exception reports, presenting metrics, causes, containment, actions and progress to managers and cross-functional teams.
• Support coaching and training of production and inspection personnel on recurring defects, quality criteria and critical operating precautions.

Requirements

• Good working proficiency in either English or Chinese for professional communication and reading technical documents.
• Ability to monitor process quality, interpret defect data and coordinate shop-floor issue resolution .
• Ability to work across production, engineering and quality inspection teams on defect investigation, corrective actions and improvement.
• Ability to prepare reports, communicate issues clearly and track corrective-action progress .
